ESPACIALIDADES

Máquina Romântica é um dispositivo de grande escala que permite fotografar o património arquitetónico industrial concedendo-lhe uma “aura”. Foi desenvolvido para, com humor, realizar uma missão fotográfica pelas vias e paisagens do Vale do Ave.

SPACIALITIES

Romantic Machine is a large scale device for taking pictures of industrial architectural heritage, giving it an ‘aura’. It was created to carry out a playful photographic mission around the roads and landscapes of the Vale do Ave.

Pedro Bandeira (1970), arquiteto (FAUP 1996), Professor Auxiliar na Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade do Minho. Integrou a exposição Metaflux na representação portuguesa na Bienal de Arquitetura de Veneza (2004) e representou Portugal na Bienal de Arquitetura de São Paulo (2005). Participou na exposição Portugal Now: Country Positions in Architecture and Urbanism (2007) organizada pela Escola de Arquitetura, Arte e Planeamento da Universidade de Cornell (EUA). É autor do livro Projetos Específicos para um Cliente Genérico – uma antologia de trabalhos desenvolvidos entre 1996 e 2006 (Porto: Editora Dafne). Concluiu o Doutoramento sob o título: Arquitetura como Imagem, Obra como Representação: Subjetividade das Imagens Arquitetónicas. Cocomissário do seminário internacional Imagens de Arquitetura e Espaço Público em Debate (FAUP, 2010 e 2012) e do seminário internacional Megaestruturas: Arquitetura e Jogo, integrado no Congresso Internacional ICSA (UM, 2010). Em dezembro de 2011 recebeu o Prémio SIM (promovido pela Samsung) pelo Projeto Casa Girassol, desenvolvido em coautoria com Dulcineia Santos e Filipe Bandeira. Joana Nascimento (Porto, 1985), artista plástica (FBAUP 2007), e Artista Educadora a colaborar com o Serviço Educativo do Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Fundação de Serralves. Licenciou-se em Escultura pela Universidade do Porto e obteve formação em Cenografia e Intermédia na Akademia Sztuk Pieknych w Krakowie, Polónia (2006/07). Em 2009, concluiu o Mestrado em Arte e Design para o Espaço Público com o trabalho “Territorialização dos Espaços, [In]Visibilidades”. Foi premiada com Bolsa por Mérito pela UP (2008). Em 2009, explorou uma vertente sonora em “SimLugares”, uma prática contextual em espaço rural em residência artística em Nodar, S. Pedro do Sul, Portugal (Binaural.org).Foi coautora na obra pública “Jelgava Wall Project – Through the centuries” (2010), na Letónia. Desde 2008 que colabora com Sofia Santos destaca-se “Escalas 1/1”, Torres Vedras (2011).

Sofia Santos (Porto, 1985) Mestre em Arte e Design para o Espaço Público pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto em 2009, com a tese intitulada: [VL6] A intervenção artística como forma de questionamento das experiências de habitabilidade em lugares comuns. É licenciada pela mesma instituição em 2007, em Artes Plásticas – Pintura. Em 2006 foi bolseira do programa Sócrates-Erasmus na Accademia di Belli Arti di Brera, em Milão. Colabora com diversos artistas e arquitetos, mantendo uma relação de coautoria em vários projetos desde 2008, com a artista Joana Nascimento, motivada pelo questionamento de conceitos partilhados no trabalho de ambas, sendo o projeto Escalas 1/1 (2011) o mais recente projeto desenvolvido pela dupla. Colabora com a Fundação de Serralves desde 2010, como monitora do Serviço Educativo, na conceção e orientação de atividades dos seus diversos programas. Participou em diversas exposições coletivas: Transforma Lab (2011), Future Map (2009), Serralves em Festa (2008), XIV Bienal de Cerveira (2007).

Pedro Bandeira (1970), architect (FAUP 1996), Assistant Lecturer at the School of Architecture of the University of Minho. Took part in the Metaflux exhibition, representing Portugal at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2004) and represented his country at the São Paulo Architecture Biennale (2005). Pedro Bandeira participated in the exhibition Portugal Now: Country Positions in Architecture and Urbanism (2007) organized by the School of Architecture, Art and Planning at Cornell University (USA). Author of the book Projetos Específicos para um Cliente Genérico – an anthology of works undertaken between 1996 and 2006 (Oporto: Editora Dafne). Finished his PhD thesis on Architecture as Image, Work as Representation: the Subjectivity of Architectural Images. Co-commissioned the international seminar Images of Architecture and Public Space in Debate (FAUP, 2010 and 2012) and the international seminar Megastructures: Architecture and Play as part of the ICSA International Conference (University of Minho, 2010). Joana Nascimento (Oporto, 1985) is a visual artist (FBAUP 2007) and educational artist who works in cooperation with the Educational Services of the Contemporary Art Museum of the Serralves Foundation. She holds a degree in sculpture from Oporto University and received training in scenography and intermedia at the Akademia Sztuk Pieknych w Krakowie in Poland (2006/07). In 2009, she completed her Master’s degree in Art and Design for the Public Space with the dissertation “Territorialisation of Spaces, [In]Visibilities”. In 2009, she explored aspects of sound in “SimLugares”, a contextual practice in rural space in the context of her artistic residency at Nodar, São Pedro do Sul, Portugal (Binaural.org). As part of her Master’s degree, she cooperated in the project Trans_Form_Actions , which was financed by the EU in 2009/2010. As an artist/researcher in an international work group (Portugal, Latvia, Estonia, Italy), she developed local approaches to multidisciplinary collective creations in the public space. Since 2008 she has collaborated with Sofia Santos, with whom she created “Escalas 1/1”, Torres Vedras (2011), among other works.

Sofia Santos (Oporto, 1985) completed her Master’s degree in Art and Design for the Public Space at the School of Fine Arts at Oporto University in 2009 with the dissertation: [VL6] Artistic Intervention as a way of Questioning Habitability Experiences in Common Places. She holds a degree in Visual Arts – Painting from the same institution, which she completed in 2007. In 2006, she received a Sócrates-Erasmus grant from the Accademia di Belli Arti di Brera in Milan. She cooperates with various artists and architects and, since 2008, has worked on many projects in collaboration with the artist Joana Nascimento, the most recent of which was Escalas 1/1 (2011). This relationship is driven by the questioning of concepts that they both use in their work. She has worked with the Serralves Foundation since 2010 as a supervisor within its educational services, focussing on the conception and orientation of the activities that form part of the various programmes. She has participated in several collective exhibitions since 2007, including Transforma Lab (2011), Future Map (2009), Serralves em Festa (2008), and XIV Cerveira Biennale (2007).
