Khõros Anima é um evento efémero que explora a acústica do espaço da estamparia da Fábrica ASA através da encenação de um coro de 200 ex-operários das freguesias de Guimarães que vocalizam sons, re-animando e fazendo reverberar o gigante hangar desativado.

AFFECTIVITIES
Khõros Anima is an ephemeral event exploring the acoustics of the ASA Factory printing facilities through the performance of a choir made up of 200 former employees from the parishes of Guimarães. They vocalize sounds, reanimating and creating reverberations in this enormous disused building.

Jonathan Uliel Saldanha é investigador e compositor, interessado nas questões do animismo, selva, o eco, frequências subsónicas e as relações do som com os seus espectros. Membro fundador do coletivo SOOPA, laboratório sonoro/visual que opera como estrutura curatorial com base no Porto. Parte dos projetos HHY & The Macumbas, U.S.S., Fujako, Beast Box e Mécanosphère. Foi cocurador do programa “SONORES – sound/space/signal” para Guimarães 2012, onde compôs a peça KHŌROS ANIMA. Saldanha é parte do coletivo Embankment com o qual desenvolve um continuo de exposições. Partilha de projetos e colaborou com: Raz Mesinai, Steve Mackay, Mark Stewart, Adolfo Luxúria Canibal entre outros.
Jonathan Uliel Saldanha is a researcher and composer interested in topics such as animism, the jungle, the echo, subsonic frequencies, and the relations between sound and its ghosts. He is a founding member of the SOOPA collective, a visual and sound laboratory as well as a curatorial platform based in Oporto. Saldanha takes part in the projects HHY & The Macumbas, U.S.S., Fujako, Beast Box and Mécanosphère, among others. He co-curated the “SONORES – sound/space/signal” programme for Guimarães 2012, in the context of which he created the Khōros Anima piece. Saldanha is also a member of the artistic collective Embankment, with which he is developing a series of exhibitions. He shares projects and has collaborated with Raz Mesinai, Steve Mackay, Mark Stewart, and Adolfo Luxúria Canibal, among others.
