The group of Polish artists participating in this show: Grzegorz Klaman, Michał Szlaga, Konrad Pustoła, Julita Wójcik, Dorota Nieznalska, Alicja Karska and Aleksandra Wendt with Buildings and Remnants co-curator Aneta Szylak will involve into conversation around the decline of industrial and modern heritage in today’s Poland, where neo-liberal order implemented after 1989 comes together with the rejection of the material heritage of the Communist times. Having the legendary Gdansk Shipyard as a core example the speakers will introduce their work in the show and reflect upon the role of contemporary artists in documentation and recontextualization of the modern and industrial heritage. This will be presented with the example of the dialogic form of public consultancy to transform the intentions of the investors and municipality into collective participatory city planning.
